At the Surelock McGill Group, we look to lead the way when it comes to understanding and implementing new standards in the security and life safety landscape. To reflect recent changes in the field, including in the law, we have created an expanded and updated Life Safety vs Security webinar for 2026.
This free webinar has been approved by the CPD and will help viewers keep up to date with changes to standards, including updates following the findings of the Grenfell Tower enquiry.

Kings Cross Station
The webinar covers a range of life safety and security standards, including:
Life Safety: UL305, Approved Document B, EN 1125, EN 179 and BS EN 13637
Security: PAS 24, LPS 1175, LPS 1673, STS202, DOS SD-STD-01-01 and NPSA (and BS EN 13637)
The presentation also deals with the challenge of balancing life safety and security in real life, and how the two areas overlap and can come into conflict.
The Surelock McGill Group has more than 60 years of expertise in life safety and security standards and testing, manufacturing physical security solutions to meet the most demanding standards. We engage in intensive research and development and embrace new technologies and materials as they evolve, meaning that we are at the cutting edge of life safety and security.
As part of our mission to promote the understanding of life safety and security standards, we have a series of CPD-approved webinars that also cover blast and ballistic resistance standards.
The Life Safety vs Security webinar, updated for 2026, will run for the first time in our upcoming session on Wednesday, 25th February at 2pm.
