Stores Issue doorset for the controlled issue of armaments and other sensitive or hazardous materials

The Stores Issue doorset aids the secure, controlled issue of goods ñ usually armaments and ammunition. They will help to ensure that secure items/weapons are distributed in line with correct issuing procedures, preventing casual access to the store around the end of a counter.

Door construction

Two basic types of Stores Issue door are available ñ stable and single.

Stable door

The stable type comprises an upper and lower leaf. Both sections of the door are normally secured closed when the area is not in use. The upper leaf is opened, with the lower leaf remaining securely bolted when issues take place. A shelf or counter on the lower leaf aids the issue of goods and signing for them.

Single door

A single door type is also available. This has a hinged mesh hatch that provides a serving aperture through the closed and secured door. The hatch is hung from top hinges and normally bolted in place. It is swung inwards to provide a serving hatch during issues.

Door construction

Both Stores Issue door types are constructed from heavy section steel angle and steel mesh. Each leaf section is hung in a heavy gauge steel, box section frame, using heavy-duty Surelock hinges. The lower half of the stable door and the single door are typically secured with a Chubb 3G110. Heavy-duty shoot bolts typically secure the upper leaf of the split door and the hatch, when not in use.
